Catherine Mulvihill

DCE was founded by Catherine Mulvihill, an experienced educator and dyslexia specialist based in Ireland, with over thirteen years of classroom experience. Catherine holds a Master’s degree in Education and an MA in Applied Linguistics. Her work is grounded in both practice and research, with a clear focus on supporting learners with dyslexia and equipping educators with the knowledge and confidence to do so effectively.

Catherine has worked in one of Ireland’s designated reading schools and went on to establish a private after school reading school in Tralee, County Kerry, supporting over 120 children through structured, evidence informed intervention. Her postgraduate research highlighted a significant gap in dyslexia specific training for teachers, which directly shaped the creation of DCE. Her work and leadership have also been recognised internationally, including her selection as a Mentor for the SXSW EDU Roundtable Mentor Program. Today, her experience continues to guide DCE’s practical, research based approach to dyslexia education.
